Room description
Move-in date: Flexible, late November to early December
Welcome! We’re looking for an amazing couple (or single!) to join our beautiful, eco-conscious, and friendly home in sunny Island Bay. :-)
Location:
Island Bay is a sunny, creative Wellington neighbourhood with gorgeous walks, southern beaches, and great regular bus links. It’s about 10–20 minutes to the city by car or 30–45 by bus. The village shops, cinema, restaurants and bus stop are 5 minutes away, and the beach is a 15-minute stroll. There’s also a veggie garden, compost, and worm farm if you’ve got green thumbs.
The house is warm, dry, and full of beautiful wooden character — with great insulation, and lots of natural light. It has:
Multiple living spaces (hooray for room to breathe!)
A bath for long soaks
A shared office space
Two storage rooms
A calm, creative energy throughout
There’s plenty of space if you’d like to bring some of your own furniture.
Your room:
The master bedroom is north-facing with a built-in wardrobe, shelving, and a private deck overlooking the valley. Perfect for sunbathing or sipping your morning coffee. The room has natural-fabric thermal curtains to keep it cosy in winter.
Who we are:
You’ll be sharing with two lovely women — one in her mid-30s, a creative and spiritually minded lady working full-time at Victoria University in visual content production, and one in her late 20s who works in the city and acts part-time. There is also Maui, our rat catcher.
We’re into nature, dance, gardening, and creating a supportive, kind-hearted home. Evenings are often restful and easygoing, but we love a good deep-and-meaningful with a sprinkle of sparkly karaoke.
Who we’re looking for:
Someone warm, thoughtful, and respectful — good with cats, happy to share responsibilities to keep the sanctuary vibes, and who enjoys both connection and personal space. Couples welcome.
Please get in touch and tell us a bit about yourself to arrange a viewing — we’d love to meet you!
